Sid turned her head to press a kiss to Nirrim’s arm before she stood up, pressing a kiss to Nirrim’s forehead. She pulled away and loosely wrapped her arms around Sid’s neck. As the title suggests, this book is full of lies both that Nirrim tells to other characters (and even readers) as well as the lies she tells herself to reconcile the privation and struggles she has endured to survive. It is set in the same world as Rutkoski’s Winner’s Curse trilogy. She could feel both of their smiles through the kiss, and as she tried to step away Sid’s hands came up to her waist, holding her in place firmly but gently as Sid kissed her again… and again… and again… each time sweeter than the last until Nirrim was giggling too much to continue.
